Weekly Announcements April 12, 2026
CHILDCARE is available for infants thru 3-year-olds. Our nursery is on the 4th floor. One of our greeters or ushers would be very happy to direct you if this is your first time at the church.
SUNDAY SCHOOL: Thanks to our Lead Teacher, Carol, and to our volunteers Day and Doug, for encouraging and wondering with our children today about how the Easter joy continues!
BECAUSE OF YOU, OUR CHURCH CHANGES LIVES! Our annual stewardship campaign has begun! Last week, our Stewardship Committee (Rob Frishholz, Peter Henry, Sara Smith, and Irene Stewart, with Pastor Leah) mailed packets of information about our shared accomplishments and commitment to mission and outreach. We hope the packet provided you with the information you need to prayerfully consider an annual financial pledge to Fauntleroy Church UCC. We encourage early pledging so that there is sufficient time to plan what more we can do together, and to prepare for the Annual Meeting in June. Please complete and return your pledges at your earliest opportunity, prior to Sunday, May 3, when we will celebrate all the good we still hope to do in the 2026-27 program year.
CELEBRATION OF LIFE FOR PAUL FLETCHER, APRIL 18: The family of Paul Fletcher invites you to a celebration of Paul’s life. It is being held at the church on Saturday, April 18th at 11am, with luncheon to follow in the Fellowship Hall.
FILL OUT A VOLUNTEER INTERESTS SURVEY TODAY! Everyone in our congregation (teens and older) is encouraged to fill out this year’s Volunteer Interests Survey. Checking a box on the survey indicates your interest; it does not equal commitment. Please fill out the survey whether you are checking one box or 20, whether you are adding new interests or sticking with the same ones, and whether you are 12, 52, 102 or somewhere in between. Whoever you are and wherever you are on life’s journey…you can volunteer here! Our goal is to have 130 surveys submitted by May 3! Help us reach our goal! Fill out the survey on paper (included in stewardship packets and available in the Narthex), online (https://tinyurl.com/2026FauntleroyVolunteerSurvey), or by scanning this QR code.
REGISTER FOR SUMMER CAMP! Fauntleroy Church has ties to three camps with great summer programming: Camp Colman YMCA camp, N-Sid-Sen in northern Idaho, and Pilgrim Firs Camp in Port Orchard. The latter two camps are our church camps belonging to our UCC conference of churches. A “You and Me” and “Kids Camp” are available at Pilgrim Firs and a full array of camps for children and youth are available at N-Sid-Sen. While these are our camps where faith education is part of the community-building, several of our youth also choose to attend Y-Camp at Camp Colman or Camp Orkila on Orcas Island. Because Fauntleroy Church members founded Camp Colman and our church helped operate the camp until the 1990’s, we have a legacy discount of 75% for any camper that attends Colman or Orkila. This is available for children of active church members only (Y rules) and approach must be facilitated through church staff for confirmation. Our church also supports registrations to N-Sid-Sen and Pilgrim Firs with a $100 discount to youth/children for full weeks (or $50 for half weeks). This makes the price for attending camp a great deal! Talk to Pastor Leah or Pastor Karyn for more information on these great opportunities!
OPPORTUNITY TO VOLUNTEER FOR THE WELCOME TABLE: On a monthly basis, Fauntleroy Church and friends come together in support of those neighbors in White Center who are experiencing hunger and hardship. To provide some relief, we put principles into practice to provide and serve hot, nourishing meals and dispense essential supplies to folks who are lacking necessities —and we would love for you to join us. You’re warmly invited to help on April 18 by preparing part of the meal and/or volunteering on site. Also, feel free to bring personal supplies such as clothes and/or hygiene supplies. No special skills are needed—just a caring heart and a bit of your time. It’s a simple but powerful way to show up for our community. AND ye shall receive; warm thanks, comradeship, and a wonderful sense of having done good in the world as you launch your weekend. Sign up using the link in last week’s newsletter or this QR code:

WANT TO LEARN MORE ABOUT FAUNTLEROY CHURCH? Are you considering joining Fauntleroy Church as a member or would just like to learn more about the congregation while making some connections with other members, visitors and friends of the church? Come “taste and see” what we’re all about! The next “Taste & See” informational event will take place on Saturday, May 2, from 10am-noon. We will share the history of the UCC denomination and of Fauntleroy Church, talk about how we govern ourselves, and have brunch together while learning about the many ways people get involved in the life of this church. Please contact Sarah Ackers (sarah.ackers@fauntleroyucc.org) by April 26 if you would like to participate. Childcare can be provided upon early request.
RECYCLE ROUNDUP: This major recycling event for the whole community will be in our main parking lot in just two weeks - Saturday, April 25, 9 am-3 pm. Stop by the poster stand in the narthex for a take-home list of what 1 Green Planet can accept and not for free, responsible recycling.
