Weekly Announcements Oct 26, 2025

CHILDCARE is available for infants thru 3 year olds. Our nursery is on the 4th floor. One of our greeters or ushers would be very happy to direct you if this is your first time at the church.

SUNDAY SCHOOL TODAY: In Sunday School, we’ll wonder about the good ways of God–the “ten best ways,” as Godly Play calls it. What’s your best way of caring for others? Thanks to our Lead Teacher, Carol, and to our volunteers Patti and Paul, for encouraging and wondering with our children.

PASS THE PEW PADS PLEASE: Please pass the pew pad to those sitting next to you, adding your names to let us know you are worshiping with us today. The pads are hanging from hooks on the pew backs, near the center aisle. In addition to names (which we hope all will write down), please add your contact information if you are new to us. If someone sits down in your pew after the pads have been passed, please pass them down again.

SALMON DRUMMING TODAY: Join us today at 4pm as we kick off Salmon Watch 2025 to document coho spawners in Fauntleroy Creek with the annual drumming. This free, all-ages community event uses the rhythmic beat of drums to call in spawners from the cove. Bring a drum of any kind or just yourself to the Pickens/Sweetland residence (4539 SW Director Place) in the lower creek. Serious rain cancels.

REMEMBERING OUR LOVED ONES NEXT WEEK: Next Sunday is All Saint’s Sunday worship – a day on which we lift up the names of church members who have died over the past year and ring bells in remembrance and honor of them. There will also be a space where you will be invited to lift up the names of others you have lost in a great cacophony of names.

YOUTH GROUP ON SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 2: It’s the first Sunday of the month, and that means: youth group from 5:00-7:30pm. We’ll be following our traditional flow for the evening and playing the “Disciples and Centurions” all church scavenger hunt game we didn’t get to last time (like “Gorgon” but with some riddles involved). Bring $6 for food, and always feel free to bring a friend!

THE CHILDREN’S CHRISTMAS PAGEANT PRACTICE STARTS NOV. 2! We still need a director or a couple co-directors, but we are jumping right in to get things started. Let us know if you can help us help the kids create this early Christmas gift for the congregation. This year’s pageant is called “A Donkey’s Christmas”. Can a sweet but grumpy donkey find his place and purpose in the Christmas story? We practice on the Sundays in November, have a dress rehearsal on Dec. 6 from 9-12, and the pageant will be on Dec. 7 during worship. Do you have a child who would love to join in the fun? Reach out to Tyler Torres, Jason Timblin or tell Carol Gilderoy in Sunday School! We find a way to include all the kids. And we need adult help, too, for simple script support, Sunday morning practice help, simple costumes, simple sets? Nothing difficult; all so much fun! Tell us what you’d love to do. Here we go!

FAUNTLEROY ART SHOW: The name has been shortened but the annual Fauntleroy Art Show will fill Fellowship Hall almost to the ceiling in just three weeks. Check out the 19 local artists and artistic crafters it will showcase on Friday, Nov. 14 (5-8 pm), Saturday, Nov. 15 (10 am-5 pm), and Sunday, Nov. 16 (11 am-3 pm).

A PLACE AT THE TABLE is happening November 8-16 and we're saving a seat for YOU! Join fellow church members for food, laughter, and those conversations that make community feel like family. Sign up for a meal today. You’ll find sign up sheets in the Narthex, between the front doors and the stairs to Fellowship Hall. For questions or more info email Lorrie Frost at llfrost5@gmail.com. The deadline to sign up is November 2. We promise great food and even better company. Don't miss out—the table is waiting!

TIME TO ORDER YOUR BEAUTIFUL CHRISTMAS WREATHS! The 22” wreaths are made of noble fir with incense cedar and juniper accents topped with pine cones and each comes with a big, red bow. Wreaths will be sold until November 9. The cost is $30 each. Shipping boxes are available for $5.00. To order, call Jackie at 206-940-5802 or email her at jackie@fauntleroyucc.org. Wreaths need to be picked up on Saturday, Nov. 22, (the Saturday before Thanksgiving) between 10 AM and Noon, in the church parking lot. If you can’t pick yours up, please make arrangements for someone else to do that for you.  Putting up your wreath is a wonderful way to start the holidays! Thanks for your support! You have three options to pay for your wreath:

  • You can pay online on the “Give Today” page of the church website. Select “Events & Projects”, type in the amount and “Wreath Fundraiser” in the notes field.

  • You can pay by check. Please make checks payable to Fauntleroy Church UCC with “wreath” on the memo line and mail to or drop by the church office. Payment must be made when ordering.

  • Jackie to take orders in person following the worship service on Sunday, November 9 (not the 2nd as stated last week). She can accept cash or checks then.
