Weekly Announcements May 31
CHILDCARE is available for infants thru 3-year-olds. Our nursery is on the 4th floor. One of our greeters or ushers would be very happy to direct you if this is your first time at the church.
JOIN US CELEBRATING OUR CONFIRMANDS AND NEW MEMBERS WITH CAKE! Stay after worship today to congratulate our confirmation class and welcome our new members! We’ll be serving cake in the Narthex (the gathering space outside the sanctuary) after worship.
VOLUNTEERS NEEDED FOR PRIDE STREET FESTIVAL: This is our 2nd year having a booth at the White Center Pride Street Festival! We will have 3 volunteers at the booth for each 2-hour shift from 12-8pm. Volunteers will hand out candy, stickers, and crocheted hearts, invite attendees to spin the wheel for a blessing, and be available to talk about our open, affirming, welcoming, and celebrating church and the good it does in the world. Please sign up for a shift today at the Get Involved Table in the Narthex.
BIBLES, BAGELS AND BREW STARTS NEXT SATURDAY, June 6: Join Rev. Bob Atkinson (Pastor Leah’s father), on Saturday mornings in June, 9am-11am in the Fellowship Hall, for a Bible study on the Book of Genesis. Pastor Leah and Pastor Karyn will be preaching on stories from Genesis this summer, and this class will provide a great introduction! Look for the signup sheet in the Narthex.
MUSIC SUNDAY, JUNE 7: IT IS HERE! Our Music Director Zach Fitzgerald’s first ever Music Sunday is just around the corner!! With choirs and instruments and music—OH MY! Don’t miss out on the most musical Sunday of the year. Hear some of your favorites from this past year of worship and enjoy a day where you can let endless music wash over you. You deserve it!
ANNUAL MEETING, JUNE 14: The Church Council requests your presence at Fauntleroy’s 2026 annual meeting, to be held in the Sanctuary on Sunday, June 14, at 11:30 am. This meeting is vital in affirming our priorities and ministry for the upcoming year. See Tuesday’s newsletter to get a glimpse of the many items that need your voice. We will be voting on significant issues as we answer God’s call within and beyond the church’s walls. (Childcare provided.)
COME LEND A HAND OR BRING FOOD FOR THE WELCOME TABLE: On a monthly basis, Fauntleroy Church and friends come together in support of those neighbors in White Center who are experiencing hunger and hardship. To provide some relief, we put principles into practice to provide and serve hot, nourishing meals and dispense essential supplies to folks who are lacking necessities —and we would love for you to join us. You’re warmly invited to help on
June 20 by preparing part of the meal and/or volunteering on site. Also, feel free to bring personal supplies such as clothes and/or hygiene supplies. No special skills are needed—just a caring heart and a bit of your time. It’s a simple but powerful way to show up for our community. AND ye shall receive; warm thanks, comradeship, and a wonderful sense of having done good in the world as you launch your weekend. Sign up using the link in tomorrow’s newsletter.
SAVE THE DATE: GRADUATE RECOGNITION IS JUNE 21! We are excited to offer a moment of recognition for our graduates on June 21—especially for our high school graduates. If you have someone in your family of any age celebrating a graduation or special academic milestone this year, let us know who is graduating, from where, their next steps, and anything else you’d love to share so we can share the joy. Email Pastor Karyn (karyn@fauntleroyucc.org) by June 14, so we can begin to plan this time in worship.
PRAYER CHAIN REQUESTS: If you would like to have someone added to the prayer chain, you can fill out the Prayer Request card found in the pews on Sunday mornings, or email FauntleroyPrayerChain@gmail.com or go to the church website, www.fauntleroyucc.org, and select “Prayer Requests” from the menu in the top right corner. Fill in the simple form with your prayer. Your information is always kept confidential unless you request otherwise.
